Fake: as encountered in collecting,
can be defined as an item used to represent another item that may or may
not have ever existed, and is being used to defraud. An example would be
the variety of the 72nd Battalion cap badge made in England and
represented as an item that existed, but in reality was a piece made up
from the pattern of a 72nd Battalion collar and sold as a cap badge. |
